Job Title: Group Orientation Coordinator

Weekly Hours: 28 (7 hours/day)
Schedule: 4 days/week (Monday – Friday) (Some evening work based on client needs)
Rate: $24.48 – $ 28.52

The Opportunity:
Oversees the development and coordination of particular group orientation courses and activities for clients preparing for citizenship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day operation of the group orientation courses by coordinating necessary facilities and equipment as well as developing appropriate program content;
- Develops, implements and facilitates program courses, field trips and activities related to citizenship and civic engagement;
- Provides support and input for program guidelines and policies (such as mandatory training attendance), and program standards and licensing requirements;
- Maintains related records and statistics for input to the daily, monthly, or quarterly reports for submission to the manager as required by the funder;
- Works with Community Development Department to solicit and receive referrals;
- Identifies client needs in relation to citizenship and civic engagement;
- Shares and collects mutually relevant information with internal departments and community partners;
- Promotes public awareness of and support for the program using promotional materials, conducting marketing campaigns, and attending community events if needed.
Qualified Candidates will possess:
- Diploma in a related human /social service related field;
- Two years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training & experience;
- Written and verbal fluency in English at a professional level;
- Demonstrated ability and experience in facilitating workshops and courses;
- Experience working with new immigrants, refugees and knowledge of the settlement sector;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Sound knowledge of community resources and ability to network and build partnerships;
- Knowledge of anti-oppression frameworks;
- Excellent computer and Internet skills (advanced knowledge of MS Office, Excel and other databases).
This position requires union membership. A Criminal Record Check is a requirement of employment.
