Department Overview
TD is on a journey to elevate our approach to bringing the entire bank to our communities. In this role the initial focus is on how to effectively engage the Chinese community Asian. To win and reach our vision, we must build a cross-enterprise effort across Wealth, Retail, and Business Banking. As part of this team, you will be part of executing a long-term operating plan over multiple years to enhance our capabilities with this critical customer segment. Your experience across lines of business driving strategic initiatives will be key.

Job Description
This team will report into the Asian Community Segment Strategy & Sales Manager within Private Wealth Management’s National Sales Office. The team is focused on developing and executing best-in-class diverse customer strategies across the enterprise (Retail Banking, Business Banking and Wealth Management).

This new opportunity has been created with a mandate of establishing a formal One TD customer engagement strategy for clients from the Asian Community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a trusted advisor to Senior Leadership across the enterprise as a SME and act as a brand ambassador to the Asian community in key markets.
  • Develop and lead the business development of the Asian Community Segment Strategy. Accountable for amplifying the TD brand and the growth of personal and business portfolios – by deepening existing customer relationships and driving new to bank business.
  • Amplifying the TD brand requires the successful candidate to have a solid understanding of community investment and impact, and strong connections in the Asian community. Developing and maintaining key relationships with clients and COIs within the community.
  • Deepening customer relationships and acquiring new to bank business in Asian Community will require the incumbent to build and leverage internal and external networks as well as manage the market via involvement in the community.
  • Assist in developing a best in class distribution model focusing on a superior customer experience and financial advice at every interaction, including supporting One TD partners across the region by providing coaching or seminars.
  • Achieve targets and set benchmarks in a metric driven environment.
  • Work with multiple internal business partners across the organization including: Retail, Wealth, Business Banking, Marketing, Community Relations, Corporate HR Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Act as a SME and coach for One TD partners across the region to elevate the advice provided to the Asian community.

Requirements

  • Bi/tri-lingual English/Cantonese/Mandarin communication (written and verbal)
  • Strong sales management skills and experience in a metrics driven environment
  • Comfortable playing a leading role in a new space for the enterprise
  • Proven track record of executing with excellence
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Proven management and leadership skills and demonstrated capabilities in getting things done with and through others
  • Exceptional presentation skills including the demonstrated ability to make meaning of data for presentations at the leadership level
  • Proven problem solving, relationship building and decision-making skills
  • Ability to impact and influence with stakeholders including at the executive level
  • Strong creative evaluation, analytic and innovative thinking skills
  • Proven proficiency with MS Office products especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Organized and able to effectively manage multiple project deliverables and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically while executing on day to day priorities
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter and can work independently or as part of a team to drive results while maintaining strong relationships
  • Strong active network in the Asian Community and recognized as a leader within the community

Additional Information

  • An undergraduate business degree or a combination of another post-secondary education and relevant work experience is strongly encouraged
  • Deep understanding of at least one line of business within One TD, with more being a definite asset
  • Travelling may be required
