Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for all HR related functions at Intercity Packers Richmond location. If you are a reliable, motivated and result-oriented HR professional who has a current track record for excelling in HR functions, we want to hear from you!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the Human Resources Coordinator in Full-Cycle Recruitment and Payroll/Benefits
- Provide guidance, explanation and assistance to employees and managers and ensure the best employee experience
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of HR including attendance management, new hire orientation/onboarding, employee retention and engagement, compensation and benefits, HR team management, etc.
- Strictly Adhere to BC Employment Standards and up to date with current employment legislation changes to align company practices to ensure compliance
- Actively attend and contribute to HR Specialty Company trainings and meetings to better develop HR best practices in the workplace
- Work with employee and management to understand business needs and maintain effective employee relations by promoting company culture, incentives, rewards, and open door policy
- Maintain high level of confidentiality of employee records
- Investigate misconduct and lead discipline meetings to ensure HR records are properly documented and filed
- Collaborate with the Health and Safety Training Specialist for injury related claims
- Responsible for biweekly payroll processing using Workday and Kronos
- Act as a communication channel for company- wide announcements
- Participate in Social Committee and help with organizing events
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with HR concentration or 5+ years experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3+ years of HR experience
- Work experience in food service or manufacturing industry is an asset
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills is an asset
- General understanding of BC employment standards and legislation
- Experience using HRIS such as Workday and Kronos is an asset
- CPHR or SHRM designation is an asset
- A second language in Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese is an asset
