CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

In partnership with industry-leading architects, interior designers, and construction professionals, we have been developing projects in Vancouver since 2013. Concurrent to this, Coromandel has thoughtfully assembled a broad and diverse portfolio of desirable properties throughout the Lower Mainland. We are currently seeking a full-time Construction Manager to join our team. Reporting to the SVP of Development, the Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the construction aspect of a development project. They will coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective and timely completion of all construction matters.
Specifically, you will:
- Plan and manage construction projects, coordinate site activities and ensure operational needs are met
- Prepare and monitor construction timetables, estimates, budgets and resources, and complete monthly project forecasts
- Coordinate project start-up documentation, including purchase orders, subcontracts, shop drawing review and submittal
- Track construction progress in meeting deadlines and responding to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions
- Attend coordination and progress meetings, make reports on project progress and personnel performance
- Conduct and document quality assurance throughout the construction process, proactively identify, mitigate, and track construction issues
- Negotiate terms of agreements, review risks and finalize contracts with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
- Hire full-time and part-time subcontractors and laborers, coordinate their schedules, and supervise their work
- Collaborate with engineers, architects and others working on projects to ensure adherence to legal regulations, building codes, and other requirements
- Promote a safe working environment by ensuring Health & Safety policies are strictly followed
What Makes You Successful:
- A college diploma in civil engineering or a related field or extensive experience in construction fields
- Minimum of two years of experience in the construction industry
- Knowledge of construction methods and technologies and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
- Understanding of sequencing, building codes, mechanical and electrical systems, controls, and other requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality
- Strong organizational, decision-making, leadership skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of job site safety practices required
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written

Salary, Hourly Wage: $41-60
Hours of Work: 7 hr shifts, 35 hrs per week
