Young Rembrandts is a national award-winning drawing program. Our innovative step-by-step process teaches children basic drawing techniques. The curriculum encourages children to express their imagination while improving motor skills, patience, focus, and ability to stay on task.
$24/h, 15 hours per week. Summer and school holidays off. This is an ideal position for someone with a flexible schedule / works from home.
In a given week, hours that are not spent subbing will be spent working from home on admin tasks, mainly uploading photos of children’s artwork to social media.
Start date: mid September
** $2,000 bonus paid at the end of the school year **
Requirements:
- Experience teaching/leading children ages 3.5 to 12 years old
- Must be available on call to sub in for unavailable teachers, Monday to Thursday mid-afternoons (you will be informed by noon if you are needed to sub that day)
- Mature, dependable and organized.
- Must have reliable access to a car, valid driver’s licence and good driving record.
- Criminal background check for vulnerable sectors.
- Live in Vancouver or Burnaby.
- Experience doing various administrative tasks using a computer.
- Ability to draw
- Clear spoken English (Mandarin, Cantonese or Hindi an asset).
- Sales experience an asset.
Main responsibilities:
- Various administrative tasks (work from home, must have computer, etc…)
- Availability to sub in for classes when needed / on call (Monday to Thursday afternoons)
- Hire, train, support and supervise teachers
- Attend events promoting the program
- Optional: sales, possibility of commission for acquiring new accounts
