About the Position

We are looking for people who are passionate about the location industry. Reporting to the VP Engineering or as delegated, and working with a tight-knit team, you will be deeply involved with Scrum teams in the product release process, facilitating secure and scalable environments within which their team can work, and allowing our teams and customers to thrive.

What You Will Do

· Lead the scrum team in using Agile methodology and Scrum practices

· Helping the product owner and development team to achieve customer satisfaction

· Lead the scrum and development teams in self-organization

· Remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediments

· Help the scrum and development teams to identify and fill in blanks in the Agile framework

· Resolve conflicts and issues that occur

· Support the product owner and provide education where needed

· Actively participate in Scrum Process (i.e. Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-Up, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective)

· Work in a customer-centric environment, turn stories into meaningful features

· Engage with engineering, operations, and product management teams to support company priorities and roadmap planning

· Promote and nurture Agile principles and philosophy throughout the company

· Work with teams to optimize workflow, eliminate impediments, and drive continuous efficiency and improvement

Skills and Qualifications We Value

  • Prior experience on a scrum team
  • Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
  • Experience with successful Agile techniques including daily stand-ups, user stories, estimation & prioritization, scrum meeting facilitation and conflict resolution
  • Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
  • Ability to self-direct, and a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration
  • Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the scrum
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Self-motivation and ability to stay focused in the middle of distraction
  • CSM Certification
  • B. Sc. in Computer Science or similar and minimum of 5+ years related experience supporting software systems in a highly available, production-grade environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Atlassian suite of products, specifically Confluence & Jira
  • Experience with application and/or web server environments
  • Fluent spoken and written English, other languages an asset
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • 3+ years experience in a cloud infrastructure environment
  • Knowledge of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and Deployment) process tools like Sonar, Jenkins (CI), Maven, Nexus, SVN and Git
  • Ability to use monitoring tools
  • Other activities as required

What Would Make You Stand Out?

  • Experience developing customer features in an agile and responsive production environment
  • Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) knowledge
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and application performance monitoring
  • Past experience with highly available, fault tolerant systems and maintaining SLA’s
  • Ability to communicate in Cantonese / Mandarin
  • Experience with revision control software such as Subversion/Git
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
  • Knowledge and understanding of AWS cloud computing technology and best practices

Work Environment:

Ideally, this is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC or it can be structured as remote work a time zone within 4 hours of Pacific Time. If desired, relocation to Vancouver, B.C. will be supported by the company.
