We are looking for a Senior Editor (NOC5122) to join our team. It is a full-time position (35 hours/week), $25/hour, paid on a semi-monthly basis with 10 days of paid vacation. Job Responsibilities:
Edit, modify and proofread the article and content published on websites and social media platforms
Check content for accuracy and ensure that it complies with copyright and privacy regulations
Evaluate articles, manuscripts suitable for publication, deliver content that is informative and engaging
Provide suggestions to writer and journalists to modify production style, content and layout
Plan, research and provide topics to writer for positing
Proofread for other colleagues’ copies, polish and rearrange copies as space or time requires
Plan editorial content, graphics and layout for article publication
Implement layout and assign work accordingly with other colleagues
Coordinate with other staff to ensure production tasks are completed on time
Cooperate with marketing department in updating, preparing and proofreading internal and external marketing content and photo captions
Monitor social media statistics, user traffic and manage subscriptions to ensure the posts are interesting and specific to target audiences
May supervise other editors and oversee their works
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Completion of bachelor’s degree in journalism or related discipline is required
· 2 years or more work experience in publishing, writing, journalism or a related filed is required
· Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
· Consistently strives to expand knowledge base
· Efficient and detail oriented
