Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager for our growing organization! The primary role of this position is to coordinate with all contractors, architects, and consultants with the goal of seeing that work is integrated, well managed, tracked, on time, and on budget. Position may have significant profit/loss responsibility for the assigned construction project.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry.
- Must be familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects.
- Must be familiar with the construction process of critical facilities as it pertains to MEP, Civil, Structural, and General Building Construction
- Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects with a design / build firm from ground up will be a plus.
- Business Development experience; previous experience creating RFPs and RFIs
- Experience managing a budget.
- Coordinate inspections for areas and trades such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fireproofing, drywall, steel and concrete
Responsibilities:
- Support the overall management of the project and assist in establishing project specific goals and policies.
- Negotiate, prepare and manage subcontracts. Manage the selection, ordering and delivery schedule for materials procured for assigned projects.
- Serve as the primary site leader for the execution team on assigned projects. Develops project schedules for assigned projects and executes on schedule.
- Responsible for planning and directing the construction project and related construction personnel.
- Enforce company and project policies and ensure that all aspects of the project are constructed in accordance with the design, budget and schedule.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the project and its deliverables at various stages of completion.
- Manages external vendors including surveying teams, procurement, contractor and subcontractors required to complete individual projects.
- Manage costs, billing and collections. Analyze financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively resolve potential issues.
- Effectively communicate project progress, issues and financial status to management as needed to execute and evaluate work progress and risks.
- Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors in order to manage the day to day activities that impact the delivery of company’s critical facilities construction projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Project Management, or Construction Management or equivalent experience
- Must be able to read, comprehend and interpret site plans, construction drawings and scopes of work
- Must be able to create materials list based on plans/scope of work, order and compile materials in advance of deployment
- Ability to work independently
- Travel as needed to project sites
- Demonstrated expertise in construction skills, rigging, safety and general industry knowledge
- Job related certifications such as safety, rescue, connector training and experience with various manufacturers
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Organized with a strong attention to detail and capable of working with minimum supervision
