Specialist Vancouver-based Women’s Health surgical practice is looking for a temporary part-time, potentially permanent part-time, possibly full-time Medical Office Assistant.
The practice includes responding to requests from referring doctors and scheduling patient appointments. Surgical booking experience will be an asset.
Working from home is combined on some days attending with the doctor and nurse in safe medical hospital outpatient’s departments. Chaperoning duty may be required at times.
The successful candidate is cheerful and outgoing, organized and committed to patient care. Familiarity with electronic medical records software (EMR), Microsoft Office, faxing, scanning and electronic filing is essential. A Medical Office Assistant Diploma is preferable. Fluency in English is required, and additional languages would be an asset (Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Korean or others).
The candidate would ideally have 1+ years of proven MOA work experience, have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the ability to work independently as a team member.
Salary will be negotiated based on experience. Benefits include EI, CPP, WorkSafe coverage, five days sick time, three weeks vacation, STAT holidays off and an extended health amount.
Training will be provided by the present MOA, and will include a full review of an office manual. We expect a commitment to ethical conduct.
Hiring will include a two-month probation with a performance review at the conclusion of this period. Start time: as soon as possible.
