Are you an outgoing undergraduate student looking for an exciting job this summer? UBC’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is looking for Student Ambassadors to aid in facilitating events for the Vancouver Summer Program (VSP). VSP offers academic courses for participating international students, in addition to organized social activities. As a Student Ambassador, you would help lead and participate in these social activities. The responsibilities and necessary qualifications of the ideal candidate are listed below.
Responsibilities:
- Follow instructions provided by VSP Coordinators
- Follow safety guidelines and help ensure the safety of others
- Communicate and interact with students in a positive way
- Help keep students engaged and interested in events
- Work as a team with other Ambassadors and Coordinators
- Represent UBC as a responsible and upbeat individual
Qualifications:
- University student (preference given to UBC students)
- Available to work flexible hours
- Extroverted and thrives in social situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Past leadership and team-based experience is an asset
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Preference given to Mandarin or Cantonese speakers
We are looking for part-time employees available from around mid-July to mid-August, with some training sessions taking place in late June. This position would be ideal for a summer student looking for work during their studies.
