The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada (BGEAC) is seeking a dedicated Chinese Church Relations Representative who will be involved in building profound connections within the Chinese pastoral and leadership community throughout Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and its surroundings. This role will advocate and foster widespread awareness for the Chinese Evangelism Congress, while actively engaging with various Christian gatherings and events. As an integral member of the BGEAC Ministry, this individual is expected to perform in a professional manner and deliver high quality outcomes and will help BGEAC carry out its mission and objectives through participation in daily prayer ministry. The successful candidate will be based in the Vancouver area and will fulfill a casual seven-month contract position of up to 20 hours per week.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducts thorough research within and beyond the BGEAC database to identify both existing and new Chinese churches and community leaders, and initiates contact through various approaches (email, phone call, in-person meetings)
- Collaborates with the Director of Church Relations to develop effective strategies and nurture church relationships
- Participates in the local Ministerial meetings and Christian events to promote the Chinese Evangelism Congress
- Recruits dedicated volunteers and coordinates their activities to support the event
- Provides assistance to the BGEAC Ministry team by facilitating venue bookings, catering arrangements, and managing logistical requirements related to the Chinese Evangelism Congress
- Oversees the setup and cleanup process, ensuring that the event unfolds seamlessly.
Qualifications:
- Qualified applicants should be committed to Christian values and precepts and be in agreement and compliance with the BGEAC Statement of Faith
- Bachelor’s degree or related ministry experience in evangelism
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
- Knowledge of the Chinese Community in Vancouver and surrounding areas
- Highly relational with experience in cultivating rapport in one on one conversations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong initiative and time management skills
- Experience with public speaking, an asset
- Willing to travel within Vancouver and Lower Mainland areas as required
