The Credit Manager oversees the credit granting process by assessing current and potential customers. This position assesses customers’ creditworthiness to ensure the company is not lending to customers that may be a liability. This position also ensures that existing customers are in good standing by conducting periodic reviews. This position may build and maintain relationships with collection agencies, credit reporting agencies, and insurance providers.
Responsibilities:
Credit Operations:
- Assist in developing and standardizing the Credit Granting Policies and Accounts Receivable Procedures in accordance with the direction of the company.
- Manage customer credit files.
- Monitor the credit granting and updating process.
- Negotiate documentation and payment terms with customers to ensure transactions are properly secured.
- Resolve credit issues with customers.
- Develop management reporting.
- Visit customers to reassure them of the validity of the present credit line.
- Review and monitor Accounts Receivable collection, inform the Sales Department of any changes and ensure the changes are followed.
- Conduct credit investigation on new customers through external and internal sources.
- Approve credit accounts and establish credit limits as a guideline for good credit judgement.
- Monitor daily sales to keep track of any abnormal buying activities, take immediate actions if necessary.
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned or required as are consistent with the nature and scope of the position.
- Review aged AR listings of the entity and provide weekly commentary to the Director on collection efforts.
Management:
- Maintain the organizational structure of the department to meet all goals and objectives.
- Provide ongoing training to the credit and team and motivate the team.
- Manage relations with collection agencies.
- Manage relations with reporting agencies.
- Oversee the performance of supervisors and general staff in Accounts Receivable, Order Entry, Cashiers, and Reception.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit and collections.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication in both Cantonese and English is required.
- Verbal and written communication in Mandarin is considered an asset.
- Be willing to periodically travel to customer sites.
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Effectively work within a team and has the ability to solve problems under pressure.
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
