Temporary Full-time: Effective November 18, 2024 to June 30, 2025
As one of the largest, most progressive and diverse urban districts in the province, Burnaby provides comprehensive educational programs and services to a diverse population of 25,000 full-time and 17,000 part-time learners. The district operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, plus a number of additional facilities and district programs.
Burnaby School District invites applications from qualified Teachers for a temporary full-time position at Burnaby South Secondary, teaching Jr/Sr Spanish.
Required Teacher Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or academic equivalent in an appropriate field of study;
A relevant methodology course
A valid BC Teaching Certificate
Knowledge of a broad range of effective instructional strategies in order to meet the diverse needs of all students;
Knowledge of consultative and collaborative strategies; and
Recent, successful, substantive teaching or practicum experience in the relevant grade level
LANGUAGES Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Arts degree or academic equivalent
Demonstrated fluency and facility in English and applicable second language
Courses at the 300/400 level equal to 18 credits in a relevant language such as French, Spanish, German, Japanese or Mandarin
A relevant methodology course

Salary and Benefits:
Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,842 per annum based on Teachers’ Salary Grid
Placement on salary scale will be determined by years of experience and qualifications in accordance collective agreement.
Upon hire, opportunity to sign up for benefits as per the Teachers’ Provincial Collective Agreement. How much you pay for your benefits will be determined by the position you have and the fte (full time equivalent).
