Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Teaching Assistant to support the creativity and artistic expression of students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, a strong interest in art education, and the ability to teach in both English and Chinese. As an Art Teaching Assistant, you will assist the lead teacher in creating engaging lesson plans, helping with classroom management, and fostering a positive bilingual learning environment. You will also be responsible for assisting with lesson preparation and cleanup before and after classes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of art curriculum that encourages student creativity and aligns with educational standards.
- Support the lead teacher in educating students on various artistic techniques, mediums, and styles through hands-on activities.
- Help create a supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes self-expression and confidence in artistic abilities.
- Assist in assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to encourage growth and improvement.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding classroom activities and student performance.
- Help organize art exhibits or showcases to display students’ artwork and celebrate their achievements.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other educators to integrate art into cross-curricular projects.
- Assist with classroom setup and preparation before lessons, and help with cleanup and organization after class sessions.
- Prepare teaching materials and resources needed for each lesson, ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for classroom activities.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills to help with lesson preparation and classroom management.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with students of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Ability to assist in teaching various art techniques and concepts, and a passion for supporting students’ artistic growth.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic classroom environment.
- Proficiency in preparing lesson content and materials to support the lead teacher in delivering engaging and effective classes.
- Ability to teach in both English and Chinese to create a bilingual learning environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 17 per week
