We are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Wholesale Establishment Manager. As part of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the seafood wholesale facility, including receiving, storage, and distribution of seafood products.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the establishment. Track and analyze sales performance, expenses, and profitability.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and increase overall efficiency.
- Monitor market trends to stay competitive and adjust pricing accordingly. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules with customers.
- Coordinate with suppliers and ensure timely and accurate purchasing of seafood products.
- Work with suppliers and logistics providers to streamline supply chain processes and improve efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing waste and spoilage.
- Oversee the facility, equipment, and refrigeration system’s cleanliness and maintenance. Ensure adherence to all federal, provincial, and local regulations related to food safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including restaurants, grocery stores, and food service companies.
- Supervise, train, and support staff in handling seafood products, ensuring proper techniques are used to maintain freshness. Schedule staff shifts, manage payroll, and oversee employee performance.
Skills Requirements:
- Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
- Experience: 2 years to less than 5 years related retail or wholesale management experience, management experience in seafood wholesale industy is preferred
- Skill: Srong knowledge of computer systems that manage point of sale, orders, inventory, customer relationships
Work Location:
- Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
- Must be able to work in cold storage environments as necessary.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs.
