Career Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an Architectural Technologist (Modular) with experience in volumetric modular construction, off-site manufacturing, or architectural design. In this role, you will support key business functions such as Project Pursuits, Modular Project Design & Development, Stakeholder Education, Value Engineering, and Preconstruction Coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting to the VP Preconstruction and working closely with our Preconstruction Manager, you will collaborate with internal and external project teams—including clients, contractors, consultants, and manufacturing partners—to develop cost-effective modular solutions. This is a dynamic opportunity to make an immediate impact on a growing industry.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on global projects and travel as needed for site visits, client meetings, trade shows, and visits to Stack’s facilities abroad.
• Develop and refine project documentation, including modular specifications, scope delineation, and detailed scopes of work.
• Create conceptual modular designs that align with client needs and manufacturing capabilities.
• Participate in business development by building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subtrade partners, and vendors.
• Educate stakeholders (clients, consultants, and trade partners) on modular construction techniques, and promote the advantages of off-site manufacturing.
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams throughout the pursuit, preconstruction, design, and early execution phases of modular projects.
• Assist in developing project schedules covering permitting, design, fabrication, and installation timelines.
• Support RFP responses, proposals, and preconstruction design submissions. Contribute to project costing, estimating, and value engineering efforts.
• Research and compile project data to develop analytics that inform future projects.
• Collaborate with marketing and pursuit teams to create compelling modular designs, drawings, and visual renderings.
• Promote the benefits and efficiencies of modular construction, including design, manufacturing, logistics, and on-site installation.

About You:

• 5+ years of experience in architectural/structural design, design management, modular/off-site manufacturing, or real estate development.
• Degree or certificate in Construction, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Architectural Design (or a related field).
• Strong understanding of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, as well as building codes and specifications.
• General knowledge of the construction and real estate industries, with experience managing preconstruction or design processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and other 3D rendering or architectural drafting software.
• Comfortable using MS Office, Google Suite, Bluebeam, MS Project, Procore, and other construction tools. (Experience with Smartsheet, ERP software, CRM software, and Adobe InDesign is a bonus.)
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin proficiency is an asset.
• Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
• A proactive, results-driven attitude with a passion for pushing modular construction forward.

Location:

The ideal candidate will be based in the Greater Vancouver Area. This is an in-office role at our Vancouver office, with some flexibility for occasional remote work.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
