The Manager, Corporate Development and Investor Relations is responsible for executing the company’s investor relations activities including IR reporting requirements. Responsibilities include building and maintaining strong relationships with external investors and developing effective relationships between the company and the investment community.
Strong communication skills and an ability to articulate the company’s strategy and value proposition. The position serves as a primary interface between the investment community and ESE Entertainment, providing real-time and value-added information and insight to support executive decisions.
Position Responsibilities*
_Key Responsibilities_
Execute the investor relations plan to include global investor targeting, communication of key milestones and metrics for success
Responsible for the creation of materials and key message development for financial audiences, including investor presentations, fact sheets, management scripts and Q&A for quarterly earnings calls
Serve as the conduit to the investment community to manage the flow of financial and corporate information, ensuring messaging is timely, accurate, and transparent to shareholders and equity research analysts as a component of an ongoing organizational plan to drive long-term shareholder value
_Enabling Responsibilities_
Maintain a thorough understanding of analyst financial models, stock ownership, stock price, research reports and monitor and assess changes and trends in ownership of company stock
Identify, develop, and manage a targeted investor database
Research, analyze and present financial and industry trends, competitor behaviour, shareholder concerns, and other developments that might impact the company
Research, monitor, and analyze peer group companies, including their presentations, financial reports, disclosures and websites. Develop and maintain financial benchmarking as required
Position Requirements*
Bachelor’s degree in communications, business/commerce, economics or finance is preferred; CFA designation or MBA an asset
2+ years of Investor Relations experience in Canada preferred
Demonstrated strong creation skills with regards to communication materials; ability to present informative data, qualitative trends in an engaging visual manner
Strong written and verbal communication skills that translates into strong relationships both internally and externally
Effective understanding of laws and securities disclosure requirements, as well as filing requirements
Familiarity with working with both TSX, TSXV, and CSE listings
Understanding of financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors
Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver results on time
Team player and comfortable dealing with all levels of management
Displays a positive attitude towards complex challenges and problems and deals with them in an open, objective, and flexible manner
Exhibit high standards of ethical business and personal conduct
Strong understanding of the commitment needed with regards to reporting cycles – i.e. flexible schedule, ability to travel as required
A second language is an asset i.e. Mandarin, Italian, German, Spanish or French
