As business volume increases, we are now looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer who has great passion in auto-industry and proven knowledge and strategies in purchasing commodities. You will be responsible for the daily purchase of vehicle components, supplies, essential fluids and all the needed staff to guarantee the normal operation of our store. This position may require business trips to Japan, Korea or China, it will be necessary for you to know how to communicate with local suppliers.
Job Duties:
Responsible for the purchasing of automobile components, such as tires, AC compressors, steering gear box of different brands, as well as necessities for auto service and maintenance;
Devises and implements purchasing strategies, such as supplier optimization, TQM and vendor development;
Negotiates with vendors for optimal price, and negotiates contracts and policies with suppliers;
Seeks and partners with reliable vendors and maintains good and long term relationship with them;
Monitors the quality of products;
Controls purchasing budget;
Inspects and evaluates inventory, and reorders stock as needed;
Verifies and maintains records of all orders, payments and received stock;
Coordinates with logistics companies to schedule and track each delivery, ensuring timely and smooth delivery;
Travels on business for the purchasing of auto components of vintage vehicles, mostly to China, Korea and Japan;
Requirements:
Minimum college diploma;
Minimum two years’ experience as purchasing officer;
Proven knowledge in auto industry is an asset;
Ability to communicate in English, proficiency in at least one second language in Mandarin, Korean or Japanese due to travelling to those countries.
A good command of Chinese, Japanese or Korean culture, knowing how to communicate with local people;
Strong negotiation ability and influencing skills;
Comfortable with business trips;
Familiarity with Microsoft office and purchasing software;
Honesty with work ethics.
