Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Process Engineer will work with the Product and Technology Development team for the development, transfer, and improvement of production processes for all Unilia products.

  • Typical duties, responsibilities and activities include: *
  • Develops, mentors and champions the process engineering standards (i.e. work instructions, PFEMAs, Control Plans and other related manufacturing documentation).
  • Develops suitable processes for next-generation products.
  • Leads and supports efforts for developing and improving process capabilities, improving product manufacturability, and reducing scrap and production costs.
  • Leads and supports the transfer of processes from development to manufacturing.
  • Coordinates and drives process validations, process requirements, and risk review activities across multi-functional teams to ensure timely process transfer to manufacturing.
  • Conduct training and/or create training materials for new processes and new products being transferred into manufacturing.
  • Develops detailed cycle time and process flow models for current manufacturing processes and develops strategies for removing line capacity bottlenecks.
  • Supports the Quality team to review and investigate failures and propose corrective actions in manufacturing processes, operations or equipment.
  • Requirements*
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Process, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills
  • Solid knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices
  • Strong experience and skills using CAD software
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral & written) skills
  • Flexible and able to take on additional responsibilities as required
  • Ability to travel
