Welink Career Service Inc. Duties and responsibilities:
The Career Counsellor act as the first approach with job seekers, and provides resources to assist clients with workplace preparation and career development. The Career Counsellor will also support participants in placements by providing on-the-job coaching where necessary.
Conduct cold-call, social media outreach for business development in local talent market
Supervise field experience for graduate students in clinical and counselling areas
Administering and debriefing essential skills assessment scores and other assessment results to clients with a strength-based approach;
Identify and address clients’ employment barriers, provide wrap-around referrals;
Coach clients in effective strategies specific to their occupational goal;
Develop and facilitate workshops for clients with a focus on workplace integration, job search, employability skills, long-term career planning;
Support clients to research their occupational field and the local labour market;
Monitor clients’ progress and perform on-going assessment and monitoring as required;
Developing and maintaining positive client relationships as well as employee relations;
Qualifications and Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of sales, education, training and career consulting experience;
1 to 2 years’ experience delivering career development services to job seekers is preferred;
Knowledge of Canadian workplace practices, community employment related resources and current labour market knowledge across a range of industry sectors;
Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills;
Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds when managing sensitive information;
Advanced proficiency in internet research, Microsoft Office, and social media, various online platforms for delivery;
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
Native Mandarin language required
Expected start date: 2020-10-05

Salary: $15.00-$20.00 per hour
