POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistic Specialist will oversee the transportation of all products within the company. This is a unique opportunity for an individual who is interested in working in a fast-paced retail environment. Successful candidates should possess excellent problem-solving skills and show high attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee logistics of all shipments within the company
- Obtain freight quotations for air shipments
- Create shipping and customs documentation
- Communicate shipment schedules with vendors
- Work closely with nominated forwarders to expedite shipments
- Arrange and track weekly shipments
- Organize transportation of product and fixtures for new store openings
- Identify opportunities for improved logistics
- Provide quality control for any shipping/delivery issues
- Review discrepancy reports and communicate with vendors
- Create receiving lists for incoming shipments
- Research and establish best logistical options and carriers for all areas
- Support with maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans and similar data
- Review and analyze program effectiveness, suggest and execute on time improvements and corrective actions
- Develop reports showing transportation costs on precise projects and moves
- Coordinating monthly discussions with assigned carriers to review performance
- Generating cost savings by creating tools that accurately analyze freight costs
- Conducing KPI Analysis for assigned carriers, improving carrier performance and customer satisfaction with delivery product
- Ownership of Canadian import regulations, including tariffs, NAFTA, commercial invoice updates
- Mitigate the risks and impacts associated with daily operations minimizing potential disruption to the business
- Other projects or duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 6 years previous experience in logistics management or coordination
- Familiarity with US Customs requirements
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention in detail
- Great interpersonal skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to speak mandarin or Cantonese is an asset
- Experience with importing cosmetic products is an asset
- Experience with ERP system, preferably NetSuite
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong data analytics skills
