Potential long-term projects coming up and looking for candidates. Logistics experience not required. Looking for folks with a good attitude and who work hard. Currently quite busy but send over a resume and a description of what makes you a good hire, and I will try to respond ASAP. Don’t worry too much about how your resume looks as I’m more interested in who you are / potential.
This position could be full-time, part-time, and during weekends/afterhours (let me know what you can fulfill). Pay is what you make of it—more results = more pay.OVERVIEW:
To support our North American Trucking Division by dispatching truck movements, problem-solving, and taking care of admin duties, while building relationships with carriers and clients by being a reliable communicator. To contribute to the supply chains of Canada+USA by ensuring products are moving from Point A to B, whether truckloads of food for grocery chains, or pallets of equipment for an engineer.
SKILLS
You would need to be good at:
– Talking to people (clear and efficient communicator; negotiation skills a plus; English as a second language is not an issue as long as info can be relayed clearly)
– Dealing with various problems that require immediate attention, and problem-solving on the spot
– Multi-tasking (on computer + phone)
– Keeping organized to manage high workload
– Being very detail-oriented (e.g., entering the correct address, as one wrong number can send a driver to another city!)
– Prioritizing tasks in order of urgency vs. medium-/long-term planning
– Basic computer programs (we can train for this)
DUTIES
1. Resolving everyday problems that are inevitable in the logistics industry (weather delays, etc.), and making sure everyone is getting the support they need—being that ‘go-to person’ for help.
2. Creating load tenders through our TMS (Transport Management System) – entering data including Product, Weight, Size, Pickup/Delivery Locations, making sure everything looks accurate, and sending it off to all parties who need this.
3. Ensuring loads are on time for pickups and deliveries by calling and emailing carriers, and live-updating TMS.
4. Keeping clear and consistent communication with carriers and clients, and having a good gauge of tone, frequency, timing, and type of information to share.
5. Administrative duties including obtaining POD’s (Proof of Delivery documents), calculating rates, and resolving billing issues.
6. For those interested, commission sales opportunities also available.
