The Accountant Assistant will be working physically in our Canada office in Richmond, BC and responsible for both OSIM USA and OSIM Canada accounting operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily duties which include preparing daily journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. Ensure the tasks are all completed in a timely manner.
- Reviewing all kinds of expenses such as credit card charges, reimbursements, and vendor payments.
- Accounts payable monitoring – includes processing invoices/bills, following up with vendors in a timely manner, and account reconciliation when required.
- Tax management – Complete government filing requirements such as GST and PST returns, employee health tax, and payroll tax within due dates according to the regulations.
- Banking & cash management – Complete bank and cash reconciliation on a daily basis, resolving discrepancies and making associated finance entries.
- A/R monitoring – Manage A/R aging, finance customers, invoicing, and cash receipts.
- Inventory management and stock control – Review and reconcile daily inventory count results to the accounting system. Inventory accuracy is to the upmost importance.
- Assist in preparation of year-end working papers and financial statements for annual review and tax filing submission.
- Maintaining and filing general accounting administrative tasks, including all the financial documents, customer records, bank statements, and bills on a regular basis.
- Can do payroll on a bi-weekly basis including managing employee expense reports, T4 and ROE processing, and compliance with payroll remittances including WorkSafe BC reporting.
- Assist with accounting-related tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience in full-cycle general accounting is an asset;
- Diploma in the accounting-related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- General understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and processes.
- Experience working with QuickBooks accounting system is an asset;
- Positive working attitude, willing to learn;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal);
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel;
- Can speak Mandarin or Cantonese (one or the other) is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $45,000.00-$53,000.00 per year
