Accounts Payable Specialist

Global Gourmet Foods is a division of Premium Brands Holdings Corporation (TSX: PBH) which owns a broad range of leading specialty food manufacturing and differentiated food distribution businesses with operations. Global Gourmet Foods is a federally registered food manufacturer who supplies premium kettle products to key accounts in both domestic and export markets.

We are seeking Accounts Payable Specialist to reporting to Accounting Manager in Finance department. He/ she must have the ability to work independently, be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills coupled with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Apply payment policy to make accurate and timely processing of all A/P payments and invoices
• Prepare and issue payment reports such as bills, invoices, account statements, statistics, etc. to key personnel using appropriate finance systems
• Respond and investigate payment problems, discrepancies, adjustments and reconciliations while following company’s policies and procedures
• Ensure expenditures do not exceed available cash and collaborate with senior accountant and finance team to maintain payment policies and general accounts payable performance levels
• Demonstrate ability to reconcile accounts, accurately calculate, post, correct and manage accounting figures
• Maintain positive interaction and customer relations with buyers, suppliers, managers and other personnel and finance team members authorized to approve expenditures
• Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of all financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners
• Perform related clerical duties, such as filing and bookkeeping as assigned
• Performing other duties as required or assigned

Minimum Requirement:

• Minimum 3 years of progressive Accounting or Bookkeeping experience
• Registration in an accounting designation program an asset
• Strong computer skills (including Windows and Microsoft Office applications)
• Experience with common Accounting Software packages and payroll system an asset (AccountEdge, Quickbooks, Sage, ADP WorkforceNow)
• Possess a high level of professionalism and integrity while maintaining confidential information
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, knowledge of Mandarin/Cantonese would be an asset
• Detail oriented and highly organized
