ACT – Autism Community Training [ACT] is seeking an Administrative and Training Coordinator to join our small team based at our Burnaby office, starting at the end of March/early April.
ACT is a federally registered not-for-profit society that has provided training and information resources to autistic individuals, families and community professionals since 2005. ACT has a strong reputation for innovative work; we use online technology to provide live conferences, free online videos, and the Autism Information Database. ACT provides practical, evidence-based resources and training to allow informed individualized decision-making.
The Administrative and Training Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director and the Manager of Autism Information Resources, to shape ACT’s training program and fundraising efforts. The A&T Coordinator is the first point of contact for ACT, and provides timely, professional and sensitive responses to a wide range of inquiries. Applicants must be prepared to prioritize serving marginalized communities, including Indigenous Canadians, those who struggle in English, are disadvantaged by disability and/or are members of racialized and/or the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
This position provides administrative support, including reception, data entry, purchasing, donations management, and coordinates ACT’s event planning. A major component of work for the next several years will be co-ordinating a new initiative to caption key videos in English and additional languages, including Chinese, French, Korean, Spanish, Arabic, Punjabi and Farsi.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm with occasional weekends and evening work. This position is based at ACT’s Burnaby office (3823 Henning Drive, Suite 120B, Burnaby, BC V5C 6P3).

Position Requirements:
- 2 years’ experience in a responsible administrative role
- Excellent organization, planning and project management skills
- Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively in a high-pressured environment
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work independently
- Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior customer service skills
- Proficient with MS Office suite, including Word and Excel
- Competency in the use of office equipment – such as printer, scanner, copy machines, postage meters, phone systems
- BC Drivers License with access to vehicle
- Ability to lift boxes up to 30 lbs (event materials)
- ACT requires all staff to be fully vaccinated in accordance with the recommendations of Public Health.
Preference will be given to applicants who have:
- Knowledge of autism/ development disabilities/ mental health an asset
- Event planning and execution experience
- Knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp and Microsoft CRM
- Knowledge of a second language widely spoken in BC an asset
