Full job description
Harvey Law Group is seeking a dedicated and proactive Articling Student to join our Vancouver office. The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills, be fluent in English (writing and speaking), and strong research and writing skills. The applicant will be responsible for supporting Senior Associates in maintaining and organizing files, conducting legal research and execution of legal content projects, notably regarding immigration, corporate, and private client cases.
Working Hours: M-F, 9am-6pm (1 hr unpaid lunch break)
Term Period: 10 months
Salary: CAD 36,000 for full term (CAD 3,600 per month)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to:
- Draft and review legal documents, including applications, submissions, and agreements related to investment immigration.
- Assist in the preparation of client files for submissions to immigration authorities.
- Meet clients for immigration consultation and identify the best suited immigration program.
- Assist with processing clients’ applications and reviewing documents collected to ensure compliance with the immigration program’s requirements.
- Conduct legal research and prepare detailed reports on immigration policies and regulations.
- Review contract terms of program suppliers/agents and provide advice to optimize them.
- Opportunity to travel internationally to our other global offices in Asia and Europe to manage cases and assignments as required.
- Support in any other ad-hoc projects as directed by the Partners or Senior Associates.
Requirements
- Possess a JD/LLB Law Degree from an accredited Canadian law school
- Admitted or in the process of being admitted to a Canadian law society
- Fluent in English (additional languages desirable, such as French, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese)
- Be legally authorized to work in Canada
