We are a growing company and seeking an organized and motivated individual to join our Dr. Bee Honeyland office team as a Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant
This role is responsible for bookkeeping including paying and recording invoices, reconciling bank account statements, reconciling multiple credit card account statements, and payroll. This role will also be expected to assist in administrative tasks and coordinate with the sales team to arrange logistics and accurate documentation.
Bookkeeper Responsibilities (50%)
· Check invoices and ensuring bills are paid in a timely manner
· Check credit card statements
· Reconcile monthly bank statements, researching and correcting any discrepancies
· Prepare and send invoices to customers
· Prepare bank deposits of payments received from customers and other sources
· Preparation of government remittances GST, PST, Payroll, T4, WCB, and ROE.
· Bi-monthly payroll, timesheet management and employee reimbursement
· Benefits administration including adding new employees and processing any changes
· Coordinate with tax accountants for year end tax filing preparation
Administrative Assistant Responsibilities (50%)
· Purchase office and warehouse supplies
· Open and sort company mail
· Maintain and file company records
· Coordinate with retail sales team to ensure accuracy of sales records
· Assist retail sales team with arranging supplies for delivery
· Assist sales team with arranging export shipments and relevant documentation
· Occasionally operate the cash register and POS system for farm store customers
· Assist with answering the phone and fielding customer calls, questions, and inquiries
· Monitor company email and reply to inquiries
Requirements
· Post-secondary accounting related training/education
· Minimum 1 year of bookkeeping experience
· Fluent in Mandarin Chinese
· Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel
· Strong proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing
· Strong analytical, organization and problem-solving abilities
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
· Strong planning, follow up and ability to prioritize and multi-task are necessary
· Attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracy
Compensation/Benefits
· Starting wage $20-22 based on experience
· Eligible for comprehensive benefit program following 3 months of work
