Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 33 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 11 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Role: The Business Analyst Specialist, Digital is pivotal in bridging the gap between innovative technology solutions and business objectives. With a deep understanding of our business users’ needs, this specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the implementation of cost-effective technology solutions, ensuring they align perfectly with project requirements and stakeholder expectations. This role also involves maintaining oversight of digital platforms to ensure their continuous performance, which includes regular updates, security checks, and effective troubleshooting. While the position occasionally requires the development and updating of reports to analyze sales and product trends, the primary focus is on deploying technology solutions that meet and exceed business needs across multiple digital platforms.
- Major Responsibilities: Work closely with business users to understand their challenges and translate these into technical requirements that align with organizational goals.
- Document workflows and business analysis results in the System Requirement Specification (SRS) and secure approvals from business users to ensure compliance and alignment with project specifications.
- Partner with the internal IT department and third-party vendors to develop and enhance functions for digital platforms/tools, ensuring these initiatives align with business requirements and strategic objectives.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for User Acceptance Tests and End-To-End tests, coordinate and execute these tests to ensure system functionalities meet user expectations.
- Facilitate the rollout of new systems/services through comprehensive training sessions, demonstrations, and the creation of detailed documentation. Provide ongoing operational support as necessary.
- Conduct thorough post-implementation reviews with both internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for system improvement and future enhancements.
- Develop and maintain detailed reports to analyze trends in sales and products, enhancing business intelligence and decision-making processes.
- Design, develop, and administer tailored data management solutions using the latest database management software, optimizing operational efficiency.
- Apply advanced statistical techniques to interpret data, ensuring the accurate acquisition and maintenance of data sources to support strategic decisions.
- Oversee and ensure the continuous operational integrity of digital platforms, including regular updates, security checks, and troubleshooting to prevent or resolve issues, thereby ensuring seamless user experiences and platform stability.
- Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: A diploma or bachelor’s degree in business analysis, computer science, engineering, information technology, or commerce is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis and documenting complex business processes, with a robust understanding of business application systems. Experience in supermarket business operations is highly advantageous.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Skilled in planning, organizing, and documenting complex system design activities, ensuring configurations adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Highly service-oriented with outstanding interpersonal and customer relations skills.
- Proactive, flexible, and responsive in completing tasks, with a capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Certification in Business Analysis or a related field is a significant asset.
- Familiarity with Magento or other e-commerce platforms is a plus, particularly in configuring and managing digital storefronts to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) is an advantage.
