Doxa Development is a real estate development and construction company, based in Richmond, BC. We are growing rapidly and are expanding into other industries, such as education. As such, we are looking for an assistant project manager to assist with existing and new projects. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to grow with our company and get exposure to various types of properties/projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical engineering information to employees and subcontractors to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions
- Assist in plan and specification analysis in order to provide clear, trackable, and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction
- Assist in the evaluation and solution of potential field problems and report them to the Project Manager
- Assist in inspections with City inspectors
- Coordinating tasks by different people on different sites to ensure uniformity upon project completion
- Working within the budget by adequately estimating the costs and cutting unnecessary expenses
- Procuring and allocating resources to ensure there is no shortage while avoiding any unnecessary delays caused by management decisions
- Managing both internal and external risks within the project’s lifetime, such as poor planning designs, and government policies, which directly or indirectly affect the project
Requirements
- Ability to read architectural/engineering
- Experiences with BCBC, VBBL
- Ability to read architectural/engineering
- Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem-solving
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, Cantonese is an asset
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
- Construction-related degree/diploma and 1-3 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
- Working knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract software
- Ability to support the project team and helping to solve construction issues in time-sensitive situations
