The Director of Academic Planning position is for people who have a true passion in education and deep interest in interacting with, serving for, and educating people with diverse cultural backgrounds.
Job Description:
- Manage students’ progress in different programs related to personal development and college admissions
- Serve as the bridge between family and counselors, keep parents updated about the progress and results of their student
- Oversee and manage counselor/student interactions
- Enhance communication between parents, students, former admission officers, and counselors; build and maintain trustworthy relationships with families and students
- Help troubleshoot families’ questions and concerns
- Design curriculum related to academic planning and university application
- Complete special projects and reports as needed
- Other duties as assigned, including department wide projects
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ideal candidates should also have:
- Bachelor’s degree, English or Education major is preferred
- Native-like fluency in Mandarin
- Passionate about education and student success
- Strong analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Knowledge of curriculum and student assessment/evaluation
- Negotiation and decision-making skills
- Excellent English language and interpersonal skills
- Extremely detail oriented and diligent
- Respect deadlines
- Effective leadership skills
- Proactive, trustworthy, and have an impeccable work ethic
- Previous experience or knowledge of the Canadian university application process
- Previous experience or knowledge of the US university application process is a plus
