To support our growth, we are currently seeking a candidate to fill a full-time position as a Technical Project Manager. The position will be based at our facility located on the campus of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
The Financial Analyst is a vital member of the Finance/Accounting team. This position plays a key role in major business initiatives including: planning/forecasting, evaluating financial performance by product line and new business development activities. The ideal candidate for the role is someone with a high acumen for financial data analysis who is also comfortable to translate information and communicate at all levels of the organization to help drive strategic decision-making. The Financial Analyst plays an important role to ensure the fiscal health of business activities while positioning the Company for the achievement of financial targets and strategic goals. This role must be occupied by someone who is comfortable shifting priorities and lending finance expertise within diverse work assignments.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist in the development of budgets, financial forecasts, operating plans and modeling tools
· Compile and analyze financial and operational results of the different business units to better understand company performance
· Process and post supplier invoices, expense reports, issue customer invoices
· Process semi-monthly and ad hoc payment runs, support our sales team in AR collections.
· Inventory reconciliations, bank reconciliations and month end closing entries
· Assist in the preparation of month end closes and year-end audits for Canadian and US subsidiary
· Document and communicate to management product group/department performance and results against budget, and forecast. Provide detailed analysis and commentary on cost center results
· Analyze and document financial trends for the different business units
· Closely partner with the sales and operations team and understand the ongoing business activity pipeline
· Provide insights to senior management around financial forecasts and profitability
· Assist with analyzing financial data and modeling forward-looking financial metrics
· Prepare and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis requested by Management and department leaders as needed to support the business
· Represent Ionomr in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
· Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· BS degree in Accounting/Finance; MBA and/or relevant certification
· Progression towards or completion of CPA considered an asset
· Two (2) or more years of related work experience; experience within a
public company manufacturing operation is highly preferred
· Experience in driving strategic direction through financial analysis
· Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate financial
metrics to diverse audiences and stakeholders
· Uncompromising dedication to customer service excellence
· Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
· Superior communication skills
· Proficient with Microsoft Office software
