POSITION PROFILE, PRODUCTION LINE
Position Title: Pre-treatment Worker /Post-treatment Worker
Department: AFDP
Reports to: Lead Hand
Role(s): As part of the production line Team your role is to produce the finest quality pet foods and treats within AFD Processing’s freeze-drying technology manufacturing facilities. The Role of Production Line Staff is to work in a team-based setting, operating various equipment and/or performing tasks that contribute to the production of Canada’s finest quality pet foods.
Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for the processing of the frozen meat raw materials into the final freeze-dried pet foods treat that meet specifications and standards
Also, the position has the duty to ensure the quality, hygiene, and standards of the process and products are in line with AFD Processing’s quality assurance programs
During a shift, Production line staff will operate process equipment including:
o Meat band saws
o Frozen meat dicing/sizing machines
o Automatic tray-loading devices
o Tray unloading machines
o Tray washing stations
o Pallet Jacks
o Tempering carts
o Tray carts etc.
Working Hours:
8 hours/shift in a regular schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM including a half-hour unpaid lunch break
10-12 hours in a rush order or special production process
To apply for this job you commit to taking at least four shifts per week including at least one shift at the weekend.
Qualification:
Ability to manage your time and work efficiently
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Ability to work and handle raw, frozen, and fresh meats: chicken, fish, and beef meat products
Good communication skills
Perform job duties in line with all safety measures
Desire to learn and work and to be a TEAM player
Have fresh and/or frozen food production, meat processing and/or butchering experience or similar food manufacturing experience (fresh and/or frozen human foods production) will be favorably evaluated
Ability to lift up to 25 kg raw material for a short distance
This position may go into a temperature-controlled refrigerated/chilled storage to get materials.
English is required, and the ability to speak Mandarin will be an asset.
Have a valid forklift license is an asset.

Wage Rate: this position offers C$17 hourly and C$18 hourly in low-temperature areas (-2℃)
