Reporting to the Chief Professional Engineer of the Stack Engineering Department (SED) the Stack Supplier Engineer takes an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on assessing and ensuring the efficiency of the overall stack design and systems integration. This includes life-cycle problem identification and their impact with the goal of determining solutions.
Typical duties, responsibilities and activities include:
Voice of stack in Stack System engineering
Ensure best overall balance
Understand how stack will be affected by customer use cases.
Co ordinate data analysis by suppliers and internal analysts
Drives stack technology advancement in academia and supply chain
Define value of improvements in stack attributes
Understand degree of difficulty and reasonable expectation of improvement vs investment
Defines the stack Product Roadmap for Re-Fire
Set target for future stacks that support Re-Fire strategy
Define potential technology sources and cultivate the suppliers
Requirements
A technical education in Physics, Mechanical, Chemical Processes, Manufacturing, Materials, or a similar field
>15 years in fuel cell Industry experience including:
Technology strategy development
Systems engineering best practice
Stack design
FCS and powertrain architecture design
Component design and release
Technoeconomic modeling of complex systems
Big picture strategic thinking
Can balance trade offs with reason and pragmatism
Credible with all players in trade offs
High influence skills
Making clarity from complexity
