Full Job Description

Internally Titled: People & Culture Business Partner

Role Summary

As the People & Culture Business Partner, you will work in partnership with the People & Culture Team to act as a trusted advisor to the Vancouver Supply Chain team on all matters related to people and organizational effectiveness. You will be the central point of contact and liaison with the People & Culture Team and will provide subject matter expertise and support to the Supply Chain team to recruit and develop their teams. The People & Culture Business Partner reports to the VP of People & Culture.

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Hiring Managers to post, screen, interview and hire candidates within hiring timelines
  • Train & coach Hiring Managers on Eminence recruiting best practices
  • Post and maintain job opportunities (track and communicate deadlines, ensure that applicants receive responses)
  • Provide guidance and training to support Supply Chain Leaders to develop their people using Eminence’s best practices
  • Partner with Supply Chain Leaders to provide support and guidance for Eminence’s best practices in dealing with performance management issues with Team-members.
  • Contribute to the organization’s culture so that it exemplifies the core values, supports the attainment of the company’s goals and promotes employee engagement & retention
  • Recommend opportunities for increased employee engagement
  • Improve and standardize Onboarding, Orientation, Reorientation, and Training Plans for Team-members
  • Conduct Onboarding and Orientation activities as required
  • Manage Team-member Leave Program (vacation and administration of extended leaves of absence), including documentation, meetings, and follow-up as required
  • Partner with the People & Culture Team in the development and management of programs, procedures, and guidelines
  • Assist and monitor Supply Chain compensation structure to maintain best practice
  • Assist the VP of People & Culture in ensuring that all Team-members have role-specific KPIs
  • Ensure all required Joint Health & Safety Committee activities are conducted, including committee meetings, accident investigations, and communications
  • Oversee and submit worker’s compensation claims and incident reporting
  • Provide advice on claims management and return to work for injuries and illnesses
  • Partner with the VP of People & Culture to maintain and improve HR Standard Materials

 


Qualifications

  • Completion of a diploma program in Human Resources or related field plus 5+ years of broad Human Resources Generalist experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in full-cycle recruitment, training, new employee orientations, onboarding and offboarding
  • 1-2 years leadership experience (preferred)
  • 1-2 years of experience in leading and participating in job evaluations, job description development and all aspects of performance development
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook mail, tasks, and calendar-management capabilities
  • Experience in conducting and facilitating training an asset
  • Demonstration of responsibility and ownership – ability to see things through and manage tasks and projects to completion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with superior grammar and composition skills
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a high-pressure, multiple-deadline environment and to work well with minimal supervision and with many styles of direct leadership
  • Knowledge of Mandarin and/or Cantonese is considered an asset
