Position Description:
We are seeking a Vancouver-Based Interior BIM Designer (ideally w/ commercial project experience) to play a lead role in the design of our modular building projects.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/assets:
- Fluent/Expert in BIM/Revit. Rapid designing in Revit, using & creating families, issuing & controlling large document packages and the ability to manage 6-8 related/linked models.
- Experience with BIM 360 Build & Cloud collaboration tools.
- Experience creating details and shop-level dwgs.
- Swiftly create interior elevation, RCPs, finish plans, and FFE sets.
- Experience coordinating interior design packages, samples, mock-ups, etc. This will require running project dwg review sessions, coordination with our N. American and Chinese procurement teams, and collaborating with our in-house Arch and MEP designers, as well as outside consultants and our Clients.
- Ideally 5+ years of experience managing the design of construction projects preferably in the residential/commercial sector with modular construction experience treated as a bonus.
- University degree or college certificate in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction, or BIM Technology related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and an ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with technical and operational language.
- Has a great understanding that design and construction details make or break a project.
- Sound understanding of construction scheduling, project management, all construction trades & Scopes of Work, North American building codes, and project safety.
- Willing to travel and work in Shanghai, China when necessary (typically one to two 2-week trips per year).
- Has strong time management and multitasking skills, and is detail oriented.
- Proactive by nature with a desire to push the company and modular construction in new and exciting directions.
Position includes a competitive salary, work-related expense account, favorable project-by-project bonus structure and a Chinese work permit if necessary. Individual will report directly to the Vice President of Design.
