About the team:
Say hello to our growing, 15-strong Supply Chain Planning squad! As an Inventory Planner, you’ll report to our Category Planning Manager, own your group of vendors, and bring your unique spin to smashing our goals. We’re all about collaboration—brainstorming, problem-solving, and making things remarkably better together.

What You’ll Do:
- Drive inventory performance by meeting and exceeding Inventory KPIs, proactively monitoring metrics and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop strategic supply plans in collaboration with Category Management and Demand Planning teams to build robust supply plans that ensure smooth and timely product launches, consistently aligning with demand forecasts.
- Oversee purchasing and supplier coordination by leading the purchase order process, preparing and placing orders with overseas vendors, and ensuring production and shipping timelines align with Article’s goals.
- Manage inventory levels across fulfillment centers by taking ownership of inventory distribution, allocating master purchase order quantities across North American fulfillment centers, and aligning container plans with vendors to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Enable seamless transportation operations by partnering with the Ocean transportation team to maintain visibility on all shipments, ensuring timely departures and arrivals, and promptly addressing any logistical issues.
- Collaborate with vendors to enhance efficiency by identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce lead times and enhance on-time shipments, fostering a proactive and improvement-focused relationship.
- Oversee vendor payments and financial alignment by ensuring timely and accurate tracking of vendor payments, maintaining financial accountability and transparency.
- Champion process improvement as a subject matter expert in internal projects aimed at refining processes, enhancing systems, and optimizing tools to support continuous improvement across the supply chain.
- Support cross-functional collaboration by working closely with other departments to drive high customer satisfaction levels for Article products, ensuring inventory availability aligns with customer needs.
Who You Are:
- 4+ years of experience in supply chain management preferably demand/supply or merchandise planning
- Demand Planning/Forecasting, Purchasing, and inventory management experience
- Vendor management
- Familiarity with different ordering systems (replenishment methodologies)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Proficient in developing analyses and reports to support informed decision-making
- Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) to convey conclusions and make proposals
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Completion of criminal background check
Preferred education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related business field, preferably Supply Chain or Operations Management; or related accreditations (APICS, Supply Chain Canada, etc.)
- Proficiency in a second language, with fluency in Chinese, Vietnamese, or Spanish is a plus
