As our Local Business Relationship Manager in the Lower Mainland area. You will be responsible for growing and maintaining a portfolio of high value micro businesses and their owners. You will attract, build and retain relationships with business customersand provide them with integrated financial advice and solutions to meet their business and personal banking needs.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain a network of key contacts, enhance the credit union’s image and reputation through networking and public relations.
- Represent Prospera credit union in the local community.
- Review assigned portfolio and ensure that our customers have appropriate lending and other products; Leverage the expertise of specialists to fulfill on customer’s business and personal needs through referral to appropriate Prospera Lines of Business.
- Negotiate and implement revised or new banking arrangements for customers and/or prospects.
- Complete due diligence and investigation; analyze and interpret financial and other information; assess value of security; make recommendations for new loan, loan renewals and amendments within the guidelines of PCU lending policy and procedures.
- Review reports for assigned portfolio to identify potential problems and contact customers to resolve issues; develop action plan to ensure risk is minimized.
- Determine and recommend whether to retain, expand or de-market existing relationships based on analysis of credit risk, profit contribution and other considerations and submit recommendation to appropriate level of authority.
- Coach and educate business customers to ensure financial records are up to date and provide advice to assist with the success of the enterprise.
- Visit current and potential customers to observe business operations, develop additional business opportunities and ensure loan security is protected.
What you bring:
- 3 years of retail lending experience with great people skills and a passion to learn business and/or 2 years’ experience in small business management/lending.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Commerce, Business Administration or a combination of education and experience(ideal)
- Demonstrated success with business development and client relationship management.
- Skilled in organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and be tech savvy.
- Proven experience meeting goals and targets and generating revenue.
- Exceptional verbal communication, written, and presentation skills.
- Secondary language skills in Mandarin, Korean, and/or Cantonese an asset

Prospera offers a total compensation package of base pay plus incentives that is market competitive and reviewed against the market annually. Starting salary is normally targeted around the middle of the posted salary range, and is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity.
