What would I be responsible for?
- Act as the first point of communication with our factories, 3PL and suppliers to discuss and coordinate logistics and trade compliance needs
- Implement best practices, benchmarks and KPI tracking to improve transportation operational efficiencies and the company’s financial performance
- Ensure delivery windows are met through communication and follow-up with service providers to maintain on time delivery
- Proactively communicate internally and externally on logistics schedules, possible delays and other follow up
- Update shipment statuses in ERP system and report on shipment with exceptions
- Prepare invoices, shipping documents and other reports, as required
- Supporting with internal controls for year end audit and duties drawback program with accurate filing and record keeping
- Work closely with the Product, Supply Chain & Buying team to ensure freight inbound from suppliers is mode and spend optimized
- Collaborate with business partners to understand the impact of export controls and compliance
- Monitor and review export/import regulations on a regular basis to ensure ongoing compliance within the global market space
- Support cost optimization by identifying opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
- Share your subject matter expertise with teams exploring new international opportunities and projects
- Support ad-hoc assignments and projects
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 1+ years of experience in Canada and US inbound, and international transportation
- Business degree and ISM or CPSM or CCLP or APICS (CLTD) designation is an asset
- Knowledge in Small Parcel, LTL, and Air/Ocean transportation modes
- Knowledge in tariff and trade agreements
- Knowledge in duties drawback and section 321
- Understanding of customs regulations, valuation and classification in the fashion industry, with footwear knowledge being an asset
- Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Basic understanding of WMS and ERP system
- Ability to compile and analyze data from various sources
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; positive working attitude
- Proficiency in Mandarin would be an asset
