TITLE: Mandarin Teacher Specialist ( K-5 )
POSITION OVERVIEW:
HongDe Elementary School is an independent bilingual K-7 school that offers a Chinese (Mandarin) program, an English program, and a Fine Art program. Students learn both languages during part of their school day. There will be 40% of the curriculum taught in Mandarin during K-7 grades and 60% in English. The purpose of the school is to provide programs that teach about traditional Chinese and western culture values as well as to develop virtues and character traits that are essential for society.

Start Date: September 1, 2022
Applicants must:
– possess a current Certificate of Qualification from the BC Teacher Certification Branch
– be prepared to use traditional and simplified characters, as well as pinyin and zhuyin romanization systems to teach students
– be willing to work in a collaborative/team environment to implement BC’s Education Plan and the Redesigned Curriculum;
– be prepared to use technology
-Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
-The ability to endorse the school’s mission and vision statement
