ABOUT AQG WORLD
AQG World is a newly-established company based in Kimberley, BC. It’s sister company, AQG Education, is based in Guangzhou, China and has been operating in the field of international education since 2015. AQG World was established to create programs and support pathways for international students to access learning opportunities in Canada, particularly in British Columbia and Alberta. AQG World works with a variety of partners in the Pre-K, K-12, and post-secondary sectors in both provinces and, to a more limited degree, elsewhere in Canada and the USA. Programs and pathways include but are not limited to summer and short-term programs for K-12 students, parent-child programs for Pre-K students, high-school placements in public and private schools, and post-secondary diploma and degree-track programs qualifying for Post-Graduate Work Permits.
JOB OVERVIEW: MARKETING COORDINATOR
This Vancouver-based position has been created to provide recruitment, admissions advising and liaison services to attract well-qualified prospective students into programs offered and pathways supported by AQG World. The position involves marketing, promotion, and sales and may include admissions advising and support in the form of providing guidance and/or information about admissions requirements and procedures, programs, services, careers and more to identified target markets for the purpose of generating inquiries and applications. As the lead representative of AQG World, you must make a positive first impression and maintain the same by developing rapport with students, parents and key stakeholders via the provision of prompt and professional service while actively pursuing new initiatives and supporting the implementation of AQG World’s marketing and recruitment strategic plan
JOB DESCRIPTION
Salary: $42,000 plus commission (earning potential of $100,000+ per annum)
Benefits: provided after three months
Probation: three months
Vacation: two weeks per year to start
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of related experience in student recruitment, advising and/or student services or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Fluently bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese; additional language ability in Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese, or Thai appreciated
· Experience in student recruitment activities such as formal presentations at education fairs, trade shows, community and business events
· Ability to relate well to people from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Proven ability to function effectively in a cross-cultural setting
· Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to be flexible in speaking and polished presentation style, to small and large groups up to 100+ is required. Proven ability to convey appropriate and diplomatic responses to questions under pressure.
· Proven ability to represent an education provider or organization with tact and diplomacy while interacting with people of various ages, backgrounds, cultures and languages
· Strong organizational skills, the ability to work as part of an integrated team and the ability to work independently
· Demonstrated ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner in a demanding, high stress, fast-paced environment over a sustained period of time
· Previous sales experience demonstrated by accumulating new leads and identifying new markets is considered an asset
· Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to advise, guide and provide training to various stakeholders
· Aptitude in using technology including CRM systems, MS Office, and social media platforms
· Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
· Knowledge of BC and Alberta education systems
· Ability to exercise a high level of initiative and responsibility, work independently and establish own priorities and meet deadlines
· Knowledge of training, education and or job requirements for a wide range of academic, trades and technical careers as well as pathway options to reach educational goal
· Ability to travel in British Columbia, Alberta, and internationally is required
· Must have a valid B.C. driver’s license, safe driving record and access to a vehicle for work purposes
· Must be able to work evenings and weekends on a flexible schedule
· Must be able to lift and carry materials in the range of 30 to 50 lbs
· Must be willing to submit to a Criminal Record Check
