Report Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for welding and metal fabrication and performs routine and preventative maintenance of building systems. The successful candidate will show leadership and initiative; understand and adhere to all plant Food and Safety Policies. You must be a good self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision, capacity to multitask, works within timelines, and operate under stressful conditions.
We are looking for candidates who are interested in committing to an 8-hour day, Graveyard Shift
Primary Responsibilities:
- Machine and fabricate parts for equipment repairs and/or upgrades
- Welding of stainless steel and aluminum
- Shared responsibility to ensure daily operation of all plant production equipment
- Trouble shooting/repairs/installations of processing and packaging equipment
- Perform repairs to building mechanical systems as required
- Actively participate in our monthly preventative maintenance programs and records.
- Recommend and implement corrective action and required repairs.
- Use of a computerized maintenance management system
Skills and specifications:
- Experience working with a CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Software) an asset
- Red Seal Millwright or 4th Class Power Engineer preferred
- TIG welding experience is preferred
- Metalworks (fabricating machine components) experience is preferred
- Mechanical and electrical repair knowledge is required
- Knowledge of electrical equipment (AC Drives, power control circuits, starters, MCC’s, motors) an asset
- Instrumentation (pneumatic controls, hydraulics, transducers, servos) is an asset
- Automation & DDC experience is an asset
- Boiler, refrigeration, and HVAC experience is an asset
- Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is an asset
- 2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines
- Highly motivated – able to work well with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and passionate individual, who has a high sense of urgency, thrives with a wide variety of work and can deliver consistent results on multiple priorities
