As partners, Stack Modular & Bird Construction are a full-service Global provider of steel-framed modular buildings for the multi-family residential, hospitality, commercial and resource sectors. Our Company’s expertise covers all elements of modular construction: design & engineering, estimating, procurement, manufacturing, quality control & assurance, logistics, installations and ultimately the on-site scope of work. From resource camps, long term care, correctional, hotels and apartment buildings, we offer a wide variety of turnkey modular building solutions to the Global Marketplace. Stack Modular manufactures our modules in Shanghai, China, while design, procurement, delivery & modular install occurs across the globe. We have a truly unique team and delivery model.
Modular Construction is a relatively new concept to the Canadian & American building industry. Stack Modular, along with our partner Bird Construction, is changing the mindset of developers, general contractors, & consultants with every successful project we design and deliver. We believe modular is the future in building construction and we are looking for outstanding candidates to change the way projects are built.

Collaborate on projects globally. Business related travel for site-visits, client meetings, trade shows and possibly Stack’s facilities abroad.

Actively participate in business development by developing and maintaining relationships with clients, sub trade partners, consultants, vendors, and other project partners.

Understand all aspects of construction projects and take on the responsibility for educating and building relationships with trade partners, consultants, owners, and other project partners.

Manage collaboration teams throughout the pursuit, preconstruction, design and early execution phases of the project. The candidate should have strong communication skills and effectively chair and lead meetings and presentations.

Lead all estimating and project costing.

Develop full life-cycle project schedules including permitting, design, fabrication and on- site construction.

Manage and prepare Stack’s responses for, Prequalification, Proposal, and Quotation requests.

Prepare project analytics for future use utilizing past, present and future project data

Attend industry trade shows and events to build relationships and educate the industry

Build and enhance detailed scope delineation and scope of work documents.

Increasing stakeholder and industry knowledge in various contracting and collaboration model that benefit modular construction.

Promote the efficiencies of modular construction including all aspects of design, manufacturing, logistics, installation and the delineation between manufacturing and site scopes of work

Ideally 5+ years of experience in estimating, project management, or design management of construction projects and/or within the off-site manufacturing sector.

Ideally, a university degree or college or trade certificate in a Construction / Engineering/ Design / Supply Chain related field.

Strong understanding of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical building systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and an ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with technical and operational language.

Has a strong understanding of construction and manufacturing project lifecycles, specifically the estimating, design, scheduling and contracting aspects of a project.

Is comfortable working with MS Office, ERP software, CRM software, construction/manufacturing scheduling programs, and other construction software programs. Knowledge with Smartsheet, AutoCAD, Revit treated as a bonus.

Mandarin as a second language treated as a bonus. Not required.

Willing to travel and work in Shanghai, China when necessary (no more than 4 weeks/year).

Has strong time management and multitasking skills and is detail oriented.

Proactive by nature with a desire to push the company and modular construction in new and exciting directions.
