Job Overview
South Vancouver Neighbourhood House (SVNH) operates a licensed 20 space preschool program
from Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 12:30pm. We are seeking a creative, caring and dedicated
Preschool Team Lead for our preschool program.
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the leadership, supervision and administration of the program.
- Lead the staff team to plan, evaluate, and implement daily activities in line with SVNH philosophy
- Work in partnership and with the Coordinator and Director to explore and implement innovative
- Builds and maintains supportive and collaborative relationships with families and community
- Adapt to changing circumstances, handle emergencies skilfully using discretion and confidentiality
- Ensure best practices, licensing requirements and SVNH policies and procedures are met for the
program
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid BC ECE license to practice, First Aid and Food Safe
- Valid Special Needs ECE license to practice an asset
- Clear Criminal Record Check upon hire
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a licensed childcare in a leadership role
- Knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and BC Childcare Licensing Regulations
- Able to provide reflective and emergent curriculum
- Strong communication and team building skills
- Enjoys working in an inclusive and diverse community
- Second language in Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Punjabi or Hindi an asset
- Passion for professional development and growth
Employment Terms
- Schedule: September to June, Monday to Friday, 25hr/wk
- Type: Regular Part Time
- Wage: $24.32-$26.05 depending on experience, skills and qualifications. Plus $6 Wage Enhancement
