Who we are looking for:

We are looking for highly motivated and talented individual who can execute our strategic goals for Supply Chain and has excellent problem solving, analytical, prioritization and organizational skills.

 

This role will have broad ranging responsibilities in all aspects of sourcing, negotiating, and buying of materials and services to meet Company’s operational requirements. The position’s key objective is to purchase materials and services to ensure that the company’s operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery, and ensure continuity of supply. This role will also have accountability in the supplier qualification process and in sourcing and validating alternate sources for key materials.

 


Purchasing & Inventory

  • Oversees and maintains inventory.
  • Purchases materials, components, and services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Prepares purchase orders and maintain purchasing records.
  • Ensures continuous supply of required materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
  • Maintains strong working relationships and communication with manufacturing and key suppliers, performing regular follow up meeting when needed.
  • Researches and evaluates areas of opportunity and reduce cost where possible.
  • Delivers creative and innovative procurement process.
  • Develops ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.

 

 

Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Negotiates contacts, improves prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice methods.
  • Assesses and evaluate suppliers and undertakes performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.
  • Responsible for supplier qualification process, managing the supplier approval & monitoring process, and maintenance other regulatory documentation requirements.
  • Explores alternate sources for materials and managing the supplier validation process for some key materials.
  • Supports sourcing alternate parts that are end of life or with longer than usual lead time.
  • Contacts suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
  • Manages SCAR processing and resolution with the supplier.
  • Proactively reports product and material availability issues; Supplier Management: RFQ, Cost saving initiatives, Negotiations, Supplier relationship/evaluation

 

 

Education, Work Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

 

 

Formal Education:

  • Post secondary education in Operations, Inventory or Purchasing Management
  • PMAC, ISM, or APICs or similar certification is a must.

 

 

Work Experience

 

  • 3- 5 years of progressive purchasing experience preferably within the electronics industry and/or Biotech Manufacturing
  • Experience in negotiating with suppliers.
  • Proven experience in managing and building relationships with the suppliers..

Skills & Knowledge

 

  • ERP system experience within a Supply Chain environment including purchasing and inventory.
  • Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient understanding of all levels of the supply chain processes (e.g., inventory management, logistics etc.).
  • Analytical mindset coupled with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Outstanding organizational and management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced excel skills.
  • Ability to speak Chinese is a plus.
