Reporting to the National Director of Mining Studies, candidates are expected to effectively execute the following duties:
Manage the execution of multiple, concurrent studies / projects to meet the agreed objectives.
Maintain consistent delivery of high-quality technical studies (active planning, coordinating and managing).
Lead regional marketing and business development for the mining sector by seeking out new opportunities through networking, referrals and market research.
Develop a healthy opportunity pipeline for study work in the region.
Manage study resource levels and ensure that staffing requirements are communicated to the Office or Regional Director.
Maintain a highly motivated and value-focused team environment.
Provide specialist technical input, leadership and management for projects, including major mining studies.
Maintain relationships with the pool of BBA subject-matter experts and ensure that they are put to use, where appropriate, to bring value and innovation to studies.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the Studies team to deliver best practice solutions by applying knowledge of industry developments and experience of past trends or different situations.
Formulate effective business cases by combining technical knowledge and commercial concepts.
Assist in generating proposals and delivering presentations for new studies / projects.

Requirements :
Over 10 years of experience in the mining industry.
A registered Professional Engineer, Technician or Geologist.
Extensive experience in the developing, delivering and operating mining or mineral processing studies and projects.
Previously worked on a client/owner`s team or been a study manager, area manager, engineering manager or lead engineer on several projects/studies.
High standard of knowledge for one or more commodity types (i.e., precious metals, iron ore, base metals, industrial minerals etc.).
Good understanding of NI 43-101 and JORC reporting codes and technical reports.
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Creativity and innovation when proposing solutions.
Fluency in English or French (written and spoken).
Willingness to travel when required (approximately 20% of the time, mostly within Canada).
Major asset: Established contact network within designated market.
Major asset: Technical skills in resource estimation, mine design, process development and/or financial modelling.
Asset: Language abilities in Spanish, Portuguese or Mandarin.
