Our gallery is looking for a seasoned sales professional who can promote and manage the sale of fine works of BC’s top Indigenous artists to art enthusiasts, collectors, and galleries in the pacific rim region and build a sales/distribution network across the far east. We aim to open new markets in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan. If you have spent several years as a territory sales manager, cultivated a high-net worth client data base, have familiarity or experience with gallery sales or art sales, then you may be the right person to for this opportunity.
Requirements
Proven track record in supervisory sales capacity over a designated territory (country or region)
Have access to a substantial data base of high-net worth clients (potential art collectors)
Highly presentable in affluent venues and gatherings (art auctions, galleries, conventions, invitationals)
Demonstrated track record of sales of high-end goods to overseas markets
Experience in marketing to overseas markets and managing promotional campaigns (exhibitions)
Must have post secondary education (college, institute, electives) in relevant areas (in Arts or Management of business development
Able and willing to travel independently to attend and present in art conventions in the market region
knowledge of or familiarity with first nations art or history is preferred
Be personable, presentable, and a committed team player
Description of Position
Manage sales and marketing operations outside of Canada
customize promotional campaign to potential high net worth clients via suitable tools (online or via agents or an established network, as applicable
Set up marketing protocols and strategies for the region
Recruit and train local sales agents in the pacific rim region
Attend and promote at regional art conferences
Negotiate sales arrangements with local agents or galleries in the pacific rim region
Arrange for translation of artistic/cultural descriptions to Mandarin and Cantonese
Conduct market studies through local agencies in the pacific rim
Manage arrangements for shipping of art from BC to clients or galleries in the Pacific Rim
Coordinate all sales operations with our local Vancouver management and provide monthly reports of progress
