Position Overview
The Clinical Counsellor, under the direction of our Clinical Director, is responsible for the completion of professional activities that include assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring counseling intervention, in accordance with standards of practice of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. The Clinical Counsellor will have the opportunity to work independently, as well as in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team environment, including clinical conferences and close collaboration with other members of the health care team. The position may also involve providing consultation for rehabilitation services to other team members.
Responsibilities
- Assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs
- Maintain current accurate clinical records according to standards set by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
- Document assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress, and discharge plans.
- Collaborate with other members of the health team and external stakeholders as needed
- Communicate pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provide education regarding treatment strategies as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in the related area, such as psychology or social work
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor
- Registered and in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada for any employer
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Knowledge of auto insurance and the legal system is an asset
- Strong formal report writing skills and excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently and with an interdisciplinary team
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
