Our BC head office location is seeking an experienced full-time Research Scientist to support our diverse and talented team.
What you will do:
The ideal candidate will effectively be planning research projects and developing new product lines and working collaboratively with other lab talents on a daily basis. You will report directly to the R&D department manager and complete job tasks as assigned.
Some specific duties and tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for independently planning research project and developing new product lines of recombinant protein, which could be applied to various in vitro diagnostic detection reagent platforms
Responsible for drafting and coordinating the submissions of academic manuscripts
Deliver internal and external scientific and technical investigations
Troubleshoot and resolve complex scientific and technical investigations
Generate intellectual property and assist in writing patent applications. Perform literature and patent searches to identify new technologies and scientific trends. Identify and execute product and process improvement projects
Manage projects related to recombinant DNA technology – primers design, gene cloning, subcloning techniques, PCR, RT-PCR, PCR cloning, cDNA cloning, single-cell RT-PCR, protein expression using various expression vector system in Prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression systems, protein purification via chromatography.
Utilize ELISA, Western Blot, protein labelling, chemical conjugation, and flow cytometry etc.
Use mammalian cell culture techniques and optimization, including cell-based assays
Generate technical documentation and provide pre- and post-product launch support
Goal focused projects and special assignments
What you will need to be successful:
Required:
Ph.D. with relevant experience or training in relevant fields, such as cell biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology
Minimal 3 years of combined work and academic experience in either:
Recombinant protein construction and purification OR
Recombinant monoclonal antibody development
Skilled presenter to deliver technical summaries of data with critical thinking skills to provide in-depth analytical explanations and interpretations
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment
Preferred:
3 years of technical project management work experience in:
Recombinant protein construction and purification OR
Recombinant monoclonal antibody development
Mandarin, Chinese
