The BEIJING DUCK RESTAURANT LTD. DBA. QuanJuDe Vancouver at 2808-2818 Cambie Street of Vancouver has been listed as the first and only Michelin Chinese Restaurant in Vancouver since 2022. As our business volume increases, we urgently need more catering elites to join our team:
1. Permanent Full-Time Roast Duck Chef 4 positions
Requirement: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience, at least 5 years of work experience as Quanjude roast duck chef with Quanjude restaurant in China, and very familiar with the original unique technique, recipe, and skills of cooking Quanjude roast ducks. Being able to complete the whole cooking process independently from the selection of material to cooking completion and roasted duck skin peeling presentation upon request. Relevant cook trade certification is required. Personal Suitability: Initiative, Effective interpersonal skills, Reliability, Team player, Flexibility, Dependability, Organized. Job duties: Prepare and cook complete Quanjude Roast Duck meals and create decorative food displays for special events such as banquets, Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling Quanjude Roast Duck, Instruct other chefs and cook helpers in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food, Create new or modify recipes to meet customers’ need, Supervise cooks’ helpers and other kitchen staff, Plan menus. Salary: $31.83 /hour Full Time Permanent (37.5 hrs/week) with free 2-person shared apartmentaccommodation when needed .
2. Permanent Full Time Head Chef 2 positions
Requirements: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience, 3-5 years of Chinese kitchen management experience, being experienced in designing menu and cook food for private dining, special guests and functions, and being able to supervise more than 20 people. Relevant cook trade certificate is required. Personal Suitability: Initiative, Effective interpersonal skills, Reliability, Team player, Flexibility, Dependability, Organized. Job Duties: Analyze operating costs and other data, Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods, Requisition food and kitchen supplies, Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions, Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities, Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions, Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards, Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs, Supervise activities of other chef and cooks, Recruit and hire staff, need to cook food and design menu for special guests or functions. Salary: $20-33.27/hour Full Time Permanent (30-37.5 hrs/week) with free private room accommodation when needed (final salary and weekly working hours will be determined based on the qualification and experience of the candidates).
3. Permanent Full Time Restaurant Manager 2 positions:
Requirement: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience, at least 5 years or more comprehensive dining management experience, preferable with some Chinese restaurant management experience in North America. Job duties: Organize, direct and control the operations of the restaurant, Recommend type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures, Recruit staff and oversee staff training, Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance, Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices, Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed, Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies, Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions. Salary: $30-$48/hour Full Time Permanent (40 hrs /week, final salary will be determined based on the qualification and experience of the candidates)
