Key Responsibility
Working on robot system structure; robot sensors such as LIDAR, ultrasonic and IR distance sensor, virtual wall IR sensor; DC/servo motor driving and control, motor optical and hall rotary encoder; Robot battery and charger.
Working on and review JDM’s robot 3D mechanical structure design, housing ID design, discuss with JDM’s engineering team for best solution and provide design suggestions and guidance to JDM engineering design team.
Working with JDM’s engineering team on the assembling procedure and modify the mechanical design for more efficient FortiRobot assembling and production
Working on robot test scheme and Setting up test procedure and test items to guarantee FortiRobot’s production quality.
Working on mechanical structure and housing ID design, Review and discuss with JDM partners for improvement and final approval of the ME design on other Fortinet products such as FortiCamera, FortiExtender and FortiSwitch etc.
Working with JDM’s engineering/production teams and Fortinet’ regulatory team to have new product pass all required regulatory certificate tests and get the certificates.
Manage project ME design documentation of every step for new product process according to Fortinet project management requirements.
Keep updated knowledge of robot ME structure and ID design used by competitors
Keep updated knowledge for the new technology emerging for new product development
Qualification
10+ year direct ME design experience on full cycle of new product design and development from concept to mass production, especially on robot mechanical structure and ID design.
3+ year ME project management experience for new product design and development
Bachelor degree in ME, master degree or higher is preferred. Academic major on robotics or electrical vehicle is definitely an asset.
Solid knowledge on mechanical structure of robot, robot sensors. DC/servo motor driving and control, battery and charger. Familiar with WiFi and Bluetooth of robot communication and requirement are certainly a plus.
Good knowledge and experience on housing ID and industrial art design.
Knowledge and experience on electronic design and automation is a valuable advantage and a definite asset, especially STM32 micro-controller
Able to review JDM’s mechanical and housing ID design and provide suggestions and advices.
Exoerience to review JDM’s housing ID and mechanical structure design and provide suggestions and advices
Familiar with production assembling and quality test in mass production and define product test items and requirements for new products
Exceptional team player and professional/skillfully work with and coordinate JDM’s engineering resources, Fortinet SW team and chip vendor’s tech support to complete new product development on schedule.
Exceptional communication and coordination skill in English.
Clear and precise communication in Mandarin is a plus.
